There are many kind of demos, like big marches with masses of people, little but noisy protests and symbolic actions. To organize a big march is a lot of work, but if you are enough and motivated people it is possible. You will need some months of preparation, especially to publicize it and to have the permission on time. Here we focus on more easy, but not less effective actions: Organize protests whereever you think it makes sense. For example in front of a shop who sells fur or infront of a vivisection company. Also you can do demos to support running campaigns like AZOT, SHAC or the ESCADA Campaign. You will need a banner, some posters people can hold and some flyers making clear why you are there. A well prepared speech and some slogans, and if you wish also a megaphone! You don’t need to be houndreds of people for a demo of this kind, also five people could be enough! Symbolic actions can be very different from one another, you just have to be creative! The common elements are the visibility on the public place and the direct communication of your message to the passers-by. Probably you would like to inform the media about it, but is not always a good idea, as they love to change your message as it’s more favourable for them. Theater and performances are one possibility to show animal abuse in a dramatic or funny or provocative way to make people reflect about it. Organize a fake funeral for the animals, use fake blood to impress people, show “human meat” instead of animal meat for example with somebody in a cellophane box, or show how much space farm animals have, putting yourself in a little cage, maybe dressed like an animal! You can do a silent demo with candles and fire or write your message with the chalks on the concrete of the street, for example near the circus. Classics are the huge banners exposed in a strategic point of the city, the locks-on, where some people lock themselves in a strategic place, like in front of the entrance of a particular building.
