Activism
There are many ways to get active for animal liberation. The following are only some of them. For longterm activism it is important that you are creative, effective and feel confortable with what you do. Everybody has different opinions on what sort of actions are effective. Some might prefer to organize concerts to raise money for animal liberation prisoners or animal liberation actions, others prefer to go directly to an animal exploitation company and do protests there, some don't like leafletting while others think it's a great occasion to get in touch with people and inform them about veganism and animal exploitation. It is mainly for those who want to get active but don´t know what they can do that we give the following help.

Find other activists
Although you can also do actions on your own, it is easier and more fun and above all safer to do them together with other animal liberation activists. You think you are the only person interested in animal liberation and there is nobody else? Probably wrong! There are many people who think like you, you just have to find them. A good way to get to know other activists is to go to animal liberation demonstrations and events. You will find many demos and events on the SALA calendar. Most likely there will already be groups or a network of people near to where you live. You can also write us an e-mail and we will try to get you some contacts.

Leafletting, info stalls and video projection
Handing out leaflets to people is a very common type of action. It is important that you have good leaflets with correct information. Make your own leaflets or print those you like. Also on the SALA website you will find a collection of flyers which you can download and print. You can hand out leaflets in front of a store which sells animal products, in front of a circus with animals, just somewhere in the city, distribute them in your school, put them in info corners in cafés and restaurants and so on. Legal notice: you don't need an authorization for leafletting if you are alone and on public ground and your leaflet has an ideal / political content!

Protests
There are many kind of demos, like big marches with masses of people, little but noisy protests and symbolic actions. To organize a big march is a lot of work, but if you are enough and motivated people it is possible. You will need some months of preparation, especially to publicize it and to have the permission on time. Here we focus on more easy, but not less effective actions: Organize protests whereever you think it makes sense. For example in front of a shop who sells fur or infront of a vivisection company. Also you can do demos to support running campaigns like AZOT, SHAC or the ESCADA Campaign. You will need a banner, some posters people can hold and some flyers making clear why you are there. A well prepared speech and some slogans, and if you wish also a megaphone! You don’t need to be houndreds of people for a demo of this kind, also five people could be enough! You have to ask the local authorities for permission, which they won't deny normally. If you want support, feel free to contact SALA. We will try to help you if you have problems. Also if you want your protest to be made public, write us and we will publish it on our website.
